New to this whole world of website building. I set up a site with the website building program included but it seems somewhat limited. I would like to add or switch to the Wordpress blog tool. Can I use both or if I press the Install Wordpress on my dashboard will I mess up the site I already built. Don't really want to start over, but will I guess if that's the only way.

Hi Jklick,

Great question on using the Premium Website Builder and WordPress. While the Premium Website Builder is an easy to use program, there are limitations to it and some people do find themselves looking for more options. WordPress is a great alternative, it's easy to install and you can quickly get started with a site. There are also thousands of themes to choose from, many that you can even customize as you like.

If you are only interested in using WordPress for adding a blog to your existing site yo can continue to use the builder and add WordPress to a subdomain for your blog. You can then link from your main site to your WordPress blog by adding an External Link in the builder.

If you want to use WordPress for your entire site, you would want to switch to just WordPress. WordPress files can't be modified with the builder and conversely, builder files cannot be modified in WordPress. I do see you have added quite a bit of content to your site using the Premium Website Builder and I understand you wouldn't want to loose that. You could copy the text from each page, paste it into a text editor program (like Notepad for Windows or TextEdit for Mac), copy again from the text editor and paste that into your new WordPress page or post. This way you at least do not have to retype all of your content.

Please let us know if you have any questions or need any assistance. We're happy to help!

Regards,

Chriti N.
