The TinyMCE Advanced Plugin will allow you to add additional toolbars to your TinyMCE editor in WordPress. The editor you see when creating or editing Posts and Pages in WordPress is called the TinyMCE. While the TinyMCE Advanced plugin can be used to add 16 plugins to your TinyMCE editor, for the purposes of this article, we will be focusing on adding tables. For a full list of the features the TinyMCE Advanced plugin provides, pleasee see: http://www.laptoptips.ca/projects/tinymce-advanced/
Once you have installed and activated the TinyMCE Advanced Plugin, there are a few steps to take in order to add the Table button to your TinyMCE editor.
Go to TinyMCE Advanced under the Settings area of your WordPress dashboard.
To add the table tools to your editor, click and drag the table tools to one of the additional toolbar areas and click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the page.
Next, you can either edit an existing Page or Post or create a new Page or Post. You will now see additional buttons for adding and editing tables in a Post or Page.

I didn't have no problem so far updating, doig FavIcon and doing great stuf through my blog but I just insteall TinyMCE Advanced Plugin and for some reason under my WP 4.0 / visual Editor - it's all white and grey content. It might be nice for some people but it's hard to find what is what. In addition that table doesn't work at all. Something is not working. |

Hello Julie,
Sorry to hear that you're having problems with the TinyMCE plugin. I am unable to duplicate the problem with my own WordPress installation. The issue may be related to the theme you're using, or it may be a conflict with another plugin. There are also many version of TinyMCE out there, so you may want to make sure you the TinyMCE Advanced plugin installed (as per the article above). Try disabling your other plugins or changing the theme to see if it helps with the issue. Otherwise, contact the developer using the TinyMCE support forums. The developer of the plugin would be your best avenue of support for this issue. Kindest regards, Arnel C. |
