Web Hosting Hub hosting plans are split into three levels: Spark, Nitro, and Dynamo. Each plan was created with thought given to server usage and a user's website resource needs. Each hosting is flexible because it allows customers to seamlessly upgrade or downgrade their plans based on their web hosting needs. How do you determine which plan best fits your needs? You will need to evaluate your website building needs, website content and functional needs, and website traffic. As you move up in the Web Hosting Hub plans you will find that server processing power and resources increase to match your needs.
Spark | First time web builders; non-complicated website with only a minimum amount of content and website traffic |
---|---|
This is plan is ideal for first time website builders who aim to build a simple uncomplicated website. It is capable of handling several simple websites and can easily be scaled up to the next plan as needed. For more information see [Spark details]. | |
Nitro | More experienced web masters; multiple websites with moderate amount of account and website traffic |
This plan allows a more experienced webmaster to be able to handle a higher level of traffic or multiple sites with double the server power and resources. Nitro is the most flexible plan as it will allow you to downgrade to the Spark plan or upgrade to the Dynamo plan based on website needs. | |
Dynamo | Well-experienced webmasters/designers; multiple sites or sites with a considerable amount of content and website traffic |
Provides the highest level of processor power and server resources of the Web Hosting Hub plans. If you are managing multiple websites that are hungry for more resources, then this will be the ideal plan for you. This plan is only available to existing Web Hosting Hub customers. |

The option for new plans is great and all but I've yet to see any specifics on what the actual differences are between plans, only vague references to increased bandwidth and resources. This might come from the limited "unlimited" bandwidth and cpu usage that are not clearly defined in the terms of service. It might help to establish what the suggested upper limits on bandwidth and other resource usage are for each plan. Otherwise you have three plans all advertising "unlimited" everything while the opposite is true and meanwhile consumers are left in the dark as to which plan would actually suit them best. Never understood why companies all got on the bandwagon of advertising unlimited when it is anything but. Webhosting hub has been great, but additional transparency would be even greater. Until then, I have no metric to measure by when judging whether or not I need or want to upgrade a plan until my account gets some arbitrary warning that I've exceeded my limit of unlimited resources ;) |

Hello Ulrich,
Thank you for your question today. I understand how confusing this seems. All plans do have the same unlimited features. They all indeed allow unlimited domains, databases, and monthly bandwidth. CPU usage is where the plans differ. If your account pulls enough resources on the server, it will go into a warning zone, which you get a notification telling you the site has hit a specific level on the server. Occasionally hitting the limit is not an issue, but if your site grows to hit it often, then you will need to upgrade to the next level as it allows more of the CPU to be used for your account. In essense, the Dynamo plans can use the most CPU power, the Nitro, the next, and the Spark the lowest amount. Whether the account contains a single site of a hundred, as long as it is not a high volume site, it can exist fine on the Spark plan. Accounts at this level are usually static html pages, with no Content Management Systems or running databases. If you do want to use a system with a database, then the Nitro plan would be a great starting place. Accounts like this can handle a nice bit of traffic as long as they are optimized. The Dynamo is reserved for those with quite a bit of traffic and/or CPU intensive activity. While CPU usage can be correlated to traffic, they are not the same. A well optimized site can handle much more traffic than others as each action (file, script, database transaction, etc) would use less CPU power. I hope this helps you understand the difference in the plans and why it is so hard to give any specific numbers on the plans. Kindest Regards, Scott M |

Hello benny,
Thank you for your question. Yes you can host unlimited domain names, by adding them as an Addon Domain in cPanel. Be sure to allow up to 24 hours for a new Addon domain to propagate, or resolve across the world. If you have any further questions, feel free to post them below. Thank you, -John-Paul |

Do you have a breakdown of the CPU usage limits per plan (with actual numbers)? Sometimes when I make revisions or upload media to one of my WordPress-based sites everything craps out because I assume I am hitting these thresholds during these small periods of time. It's very annoying.

Hello Brendan,
Thanks for the question. Unfortunately, there are no exact numbers that can be provided. The accounts are made to be able to slide up or down based on resource usage and they provide a meter that you can use to determine your baseline usage. They will not typically automatically state that you need to upgrade if you spike usage. However, if it's a continual issue, then it would become a concern. Web Hosting Hub provides a stable, economic, easy to use environment for a typical informational website. High volume websites that have heavy database use would not typically fit this model, but you are welcome to try the Dynamo level of hosting (our highest level of hosting). If you've hosted a website before and you've had problems with bandwidth usage, then it may not be the type of hosting that you require. Though you are welcome to give the service a try to see if it will fit your needs. The resource usage metering that is provided lets you quickly determine how much resources your website is consuming per the plan you have selected. If you have been told by previous hosts that you require a dedicated server or VPS, then you will need to find a different host. I apologize again that we can't provide exact numbers (they may vary based on server usage), but I hope that helps to explain the issue. Regards, Arnel C. |

Hello Daniel,
Thank you for your question. Yes, a Spark plan will allow you to have 1 primary site, and unlimited Addon sites. Here is is our basic comparison chart. You also have access to the Softaculous installer, which includes Wordpress. Feel free to contact our Sales department for any additional question. If you have any further questions, feel free to post them below. Thank you, -John-Paul |

Thanks Paul, But why it says that? What difference for my needs to go with spark or nitro? Thank you. Scenario 1 THE CMS CONNECTION: HAVE YOU INSTALLED WORDPRESS, JOOMLA OR DRUPAL?
WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, Concrete5 or other CMS's are all amazing software but not many know that if not optimized properly they can considerably slow down your site. Both Nitro and Dynamo are perfect for any CMS based website. |

Hello Daniel,
It really depends on the nature of your website, and how much traffic and resources your specific sites require, as can be seen here: Starting with a Spark plan is fine, since you can easily upgrade to a higher level plan if necessary. A higher level plan may be a good option, if you expect your sites to have a lot of traffic, and require a lot if CPU usage right from the beginning. I recommend contacting the Sales department so you can discuss your needs, and determine the best plan for you. If you have any further questions, feel free to post them below. Thank you, -John-Paul |

I have a Spark package and am looking at another host because you keep sending me emails telling me my www.easyflatpax.com account uses too many resources. I am looking at your Nitro package but have no idea if it will be any good for me! I need to know the resource usage I am allowed so I can tell. Thanks

Hello Andrew,
The Nitro allows for about double the resources of the Spark plan, where the Dynamo is another 50% more than that. The resources they refer to is the CPU usage time. Stepping up to the Nitro should hold you for a while as you build traffic. Also, check into how to optimize your site as this will lower the resource usage and allow you to stay at the next stage even longer. Kindest Regards, Scott M |
