Grandfather-father-son backup refers to a common rotation scheme for backup media. In this scheme there are three or more backup cycles, such as daily, weekly and monthly. (source) This requires the storage of incremental redundant backups.
Since we only allow files associated with your active website, and not file storage, our servers are not a good place for that type of setup.
If you are coding your website on your local computer (such as iWeb, Dreamweaver, etc.) you can run a backup software on your local computer. Many companies offer this type of service, here is a helpful link to a list of backup software.
You can alsoSchedule/Generate backups using a script, then download them after the backup completes. I recommend backing them up to a storage device, such as an external hard drive, CD, or DVD.

Hi John, when I bought the hosting I have bought the Automated backup service too.
-It is this service configurable?
-Where can I see the backups that this service make.
-How can I make a restore from an backup that was made by Automated backup service?
Thank you in advance,
M.
Our Backup Service is not configurable, and runs incrementally every 24-36 hours and is intended for disaster recovery purposes. Each time a backup is made, it overwrites the previous backup. This means we only have one backup for your account at any given time, and we would not be able to restore a backup from an older date and time.
You cannot see the backups, as they are stored on a separate server from your account, but they are typically less than 36 hours old. (Backups usually run in off-peak hours)
You can request a data restoration from AMP:
Login to AMP.
Click Other under Additional Services.
You will see your hosting plan listed, click it. You will then be on the "Add Additional Services" page.
Click Request Data Restoration. If you see a summary of our backup policy, click Next.
Fill in the fields to help us restore your files, then click the Submit button.
This will create a ticket with Tech Support, and you will receive an email upon completion of your request.
You can also send an email request to support@webhostinghub.com, be sure to include either your current Amp password, or the last 4 digits of the current credit card that we have on file for verification.
