Changing my username

Hello,

When I signed up for webhostinghub I was assigned the default cPanel username consisting of the first few letters of my registered domain, followed by a number (e.g. 'zachle5'). Although I know I can setup other usernames for FTP and Email, I was wondering if there is a way to change my default username and associated home directories used to login to the control panel? The default name (even though it can be jotted down) is a little hard to remember, and I would prefer using a more consistent username that I use elsewhere. I see that I can change the password through the panel, but no username options are available. Any advice about this would be very helpful!

Cheers,
Zach

Hello Zlevine,

Unfortunately, the cpanel user name is an automatically generated value and is used by the servers to differentiate your account from other accounts within the server. This is not a field that can be changed through Cpanel or AMP. Our apologies for the inconvenience.

If you have any further questions, please contact technical support or leave a comment at the bottom of the page.

Regards,

Arnel C.
