I'm attempting to create a function within one of my DBs but am receiving the error message "Access denied; you need the SUPER privilege for this operation". The user I'm running this under has all available permissions that I can assign via the control panel.

Hello FrankP,

Apologies, but there are some permissions that are not given to users in the MySQL database, in spite of the fact that it appears that you may have ALL of the permissions. For security purposes, full privileges for users on MySQL are not given. The primary permission that is not given is the "EXECUTE" permission - I know it appears to be available, but no users actually have it. If you can set your function to not require this permission, then you will be able make it work. Otherwise, there will be no way that your created function will work.

If you have any further questions, please contact technical support or leave a comment at the bottom of the page.

Regards,

Arnel C.
