Hello,
I would like to upload a database with spatial references to my website. Do the PostgreSQL or MySQL database support spatial data?
Is it possible to do if not and how, at what cost?
Many thanks
Marc

Good morning,

Thanks for your question about spatial data and MySQL. Yes, MySQL supports spatial data. Here's their reference on using spatial data in MySQL.

I hope this helps!

Thanks!

Hi, Marc!

Thanks for your comment regarding PostgreSQL. It looks like PostgreSQL supports spatial data as well. Here's their documentation for using spatial data in PostgreSQL. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Carlos E

Hi,
and many thanks for the links.
For the MySQL, is the spatial extension part of the existing build?
For the Postgress one, is PostGIS installed as well? http://postgis.net/
Cheers

Hello Sacapuce,

Thanks for your question about the spatial extension for MySQL and Postgre. I checked with our systems guys and the Spatial extension for MySQL isn't so much an extension as it is a table that's added. Check out this guide: How to use MySQL spatial extension. The Postgres one is a definitely a plugin that is not loaded and cannot be loaded in a HUB hosting account.

I hope this helps to answer your questions, please let us know if you require any further assistance.

Regards,
Arnel C.
