Hello,

Last night I was in contact with the suport. I have problems connecting to the database remotely.
I was told that it was not possible to connect remotly to the db, but as far as I can see it should be possible. (http://www.webhostinghub.com/support/website/databases/how-to-setup-a-remote-mysql-connection)
I've tried to add www.mydomain2.com, %, %.mydomain2.com and other variations.
Is the port 3306, (or what ever port you are using for mySQL), open?

How can I solve this problem?

Error on the webpage I try to connect to the database: "Warning: mysql_connect(): php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Name or service not known"

Quote from an email from suport:
"Yes I was asking for those setting however, I realized that you are trying to connect from one hosting server to your account here.
I do apologize, unfortunately this is a design issue which is outside the scope of our support. I can only advise that you consult a developer or reach out to support forums in regard to this issue."

That seems to be a bit to easy answer for me.
If it's possible to add a remote address in c-panel, then they should offer suport on it..

Hello aog,

The instructions in the article are accurate and port 3306 is open on all servers. The previous answer from support indicating it may have been coding was because we had not yet received your settings so we can check, but did receive your php error.

I now see you are not using the correct username in your database connection settings. This must be correct or you will get an error connecting, usually a timeout or an invalid authentication error. The correct format for the DB User name is 'userna5_dbuser'. Userna5 is your cpanel username and the DB user comes after. You can see the article How to remotely connect to a DB for exact information. There is a screenshot displaying the proper format.

Best Regards,
Scott M
