I have a website hosted here for the past few weeks with a domain name pointing from somewhere else. I added a new name here with webhostinghub today that I want to be the main name for my site. Can that be done and how?

Hello Pastorblue,

Yes, this can be done, though you may have to do some work in order to change your website to the new domain name. This will depend on how you have created your website. The first step will be to have a primary domain change - this will change the name of the domain on your account AND it will also assign the domain as the primary domain on your account. This is typically done through a form from support. I will be sending the form to you in a moment. You need to reply to it and then the request will be completed through live support. In regards to your files, you will need to make sure that any links referencing your current website URL will have to be changed. If you're using an application (like wordpress or something else similar) that is URL-centric, then it would require some change in the configuration files. I took a quick look at your site and it doesn't appear to be a problem, but definitely make sure to consider the impact it will have on your website.

If you have any further questions, please contact technical support or leave a comment at the bottom of the page.

Regards,

Arnel C.
