I have my website on another server but I want to host my email here on the hub. I went in to advanced dns and pointed the a-record to the other server for my website. I didn't change any mx records or anything else but now my email has stopped working. What do you recommend I do in order to host the email here but the website elsewhere?

Hello Northwest,

The MX record will, by default, reference the A record if you do not specify the MX record to stay with our servers. Additionally, I'm not sure where you got the IP address, becuase it is not noted on your account. You will need to purchase an IP address in order to use it. Additionally, you can only purchase one dedicated IP per HUB account. Here's a link obtaining the dedicated IP: Get a Dedicated IP address

Once you get your IP, then you make the change to the A record for the site. You will need to keep the MX record pointed to our servers.

If you have any further questions, please contact technical support or leave a comment at the bottom of the page.

Regards,

Arnel C.
