A few months ago my company switched to Web Hosting Hub as both our web host and email provider. We set up email services through cpanel and have been using it successfully for the last few months through Mac Mail, however, today it just stopped working. Every time someone tried to send an email, they received a warning that said "The certificate for this server is invalid." and it asked them to select a different outgoing mail server. Using the webmail online at www.mellencompany.com/webmail works just fine, but Mac Mail is still having troubles that I would like to resolve ASAP. Help?

Hello Amellen,

I'm sorry to hear about the Certificate issues for your mail server. Unfortunately, the information that is provided with your login does not give us enought to determine the server or website that is being affected by this issue. Can you please provide further information so that we can give you a more specific answer?

The mail server certificate is normally automatically renewed. IF your server certificate was renewed, then you may simply need to refresh your browser after clearing the browser cache. You can check the certificate in your browser by typing in the secure server path on your browser like this:

https://secure35.webhostinghub.com

You can then check on the status of the ticket by left-clicking to the left of the link in the browser (done in Fire Fox). Select view certificate information and you can see when the certificate was last renewed.

I hope this helps to answer you question. If you continue to have problems with it, then you may need to contact our live support team and also provide a bounce back email.

If you have any further questions, please let us know.

Regards,
Arnel C.

Hi there,
I tried checking the status of the ticket, but couldnt seem to find a "view certificate information" button. The website being affected is www.mellencompany.com. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

Hello Amellen,

Thanks for providing information on the issue. I checked the server using a 3rd party tool (SSL Checker - secure32 (your server)). The certificate on the server checks out okay, so the issue has to do with your mail client or system accepting that certificate as valid. You should be able to change this status using Keychain on your Mac. Check out this tutorial for more information for using Keychain for the purpose of managing your certificates: Using Keychain Access.

Regards,
Arnel C.
