I setup my email in my Outlook using POP. I noticed there are emails that show up in my Outlook but not in the webmail and vice versa. It only happens rarely but I still would like to know what caused the discrepancies. In my Outlook settings, I checked the 'Leave a copy of messages on server'. Is there anything that I'm missing?

Thanks,
Mike

Hello MichaelB,

Thank you for your question. If the emails are showing up in the Outlook but not webmail, then your outlook client is downloading the emails and not leaving a copy on the server. I have seen outlook do this in the past.

If you are seeing the emails in webmail but not outlook, then your outlook may be out of sync. This is when outlook loses track of what it has downloaded, and can be corrected by setting up the email account in Outlook from scratch.

Also, if you login to webmail and move an email, it will not be downloaded by Outlook, since it is no longer in the Inbox.

I recommend using IMAP for your email as it will resolve this issue, since the emails stay on the server, and any IMAP email client that connects will see the same thing.
