For the past few days my wife and I are unable to send outgoing emails to any address with a domain other than one of our webhostinghub site's emails. We receive an error saying either "the server rejected the message" or "sending the message content to the server failed" and the MSG is placed in our outbox..
This only happens on our iPads - with both of our webhostinghub sites. Outlook 2013 works fine from my PC. This is a recent problem - no changes were made to our IOS email clients. I did, however, delete and re-add an account in IOS to no avail. I would appreciate any help people can give ...

Hello Mark1700,

Sorry to hear about your email problems. I double-checked and sent email with my iPhone (which uses the same iOS), and it works with no problems. It's very possible that an update or change may have affected your email account settings. I am unable to verify the account that you are using based on your Support Center login, but you should be able to send email out with no issues. Make sure that your mail account settings is using the SMTP server for the Web Hosting Hub account. Otherwise, you will have problems.

You can check your email settings here: What are my email settings?

I hope this helps to resolve the issue. Please let us know if you continue to have any problems.

Regards,
Arnel C.

Thank you Amel. I checked the settings yesterday and it is using SMTP and the correct servers. I may have something wrong, but the problem started without us making any changes to our client configuration that had been working for some time. They are set up as IMAP accounts. I have to login with Facebook here, but if it helps, the sites are hopepreserved.org and littlepottedplant.org.

Hello Mark1700,

I was finally able to test on my own iPad mini and it works with no problem. I setup a test account under your hosting account. I also copied both of you on the emails. If you want to see the settings I used, simply open your email accounts using either your Outlook accounts, or by logging into your email using webmail. I tested NOT using SSL settings. And I used the default ports. My account was also setup as IMAP. I am unable to duplicate your problem, so please further information on the issue such as error messages so that we continue to investigate the account. You mentioned that you were using SMTP - this is normal. The setting for the outbound server should be: mail.hopepreserved.org or mail.littlepottedplant.org respective to the account.

We have no way of making changes that would affect your email settings, so it may due to an update on the iPad. I hope this helps to resolve the issue - please let us know if you require any further assistance.

Regards,
Arnel C.

I'm using the Secure SSL/TLS settings that webhostinghub says are recommended. I do want the email security. The settings are:

Incoming Server:
secure32.webhostinghub.com
mark@hopepreserved.org
<password>
Authentication Password (I've tried it with and without password authentication)
Server Port: 993

SMTP - Outgoing Server:
User (blank)
Password (blank)
Authentication (I've tired password and blank, same results)
Server Port: 465

It verifies the setting but when I send to a non-hopepreserved email address, the message is "A copy has been placed in your Outbox. Sending the message content to the server has failed."

Hello Mark1700,

The problem is being caused by your settings for the outgoing server. You need to specify a user name to log in to the server, otherwise the authentication will fail - especially since you're using the secure server settings. Please make sure that you add the user (such as mark@hoppreserved.org), your email password, and the authentication type of "password". Your port settings and the server name are correct.

You can also find a summary of your email settings here: Finding my email settings.

That should fix your outgoing email settings. Please let us know if you require any further assistance.

Arnel C.
