I can access email from Hoard but not from my MacMail. I get a dialog box that states that the server for my domain does not recognize my password and asks me to reenter. I do and then get the same response.

Hello djones4234,

I'm sorry you're still having trouble connecting the Mac Mail email client to your email account. This sounds like an issue with a setting in MacMail since you are able to log in through webmail. Please review our tutorial on how to set up your Email with Mac Mail. If working through the steps of that article does not resolve the issue, please feel free to either update your question or add a comment below and be sure to include the following information:

  • Please provide the full email account(s) you are experiencing the issue with.

  • What is the user name you are using in your email email client?

  • What are the incoming and outgoing mail server names in your email client?

  • What port numbers are the incoming and outgoing ports set to in your email client?

Please keep us updated and let us know if you have any questions or need further assistance.

Hello djones4234,

I'm sorry you're having trouble accessing your email accounts. While looking into this for you, I noticed a failed login to an email account similar to one of yours. In that failed login, only the first part of the email account (everything before the @ symbol) was input for the user name. When checking email and setting up email in your email client, please make sure you use the full email address (including the domain name). Also, if you wish to send and receive email over SSL, please make sure to use Port 465 for the SMTP port and either 995 (for POP3) or 993 (for IMAP) for the incoming port.

If the above suggestion does not resolve this issue for you, please provide a bit more information so that we can assist you in accessing your email by answering the following questions:

  • Are you having trouble with all of your email accounts or just specific accounts?

  • Are you able to log in via webmail?

  • What email client are you using?

  • What is the full user name you are using for accessing your email account?

  • What are the incoming and outgoing mail server names in your email client?

  • What port numbers are the incoming and outgoing ports set to in your email client?

Thanks,

Christi N.
