For the past week or so, all the email accounts on my domain hosted at webhostinghub.com have changed behavior in Microsoft Outlook 2016 with no change in settings. The change in behavior is that now every time I Send/Receive mail, I get hundreds of duplicates of messages that have already been taken from the webhostinghub servers over the past year or more. How do I make this interaction work properly, where messages only come to my client programs a single time?

Hello,

Thank you for your question regarding Outlook 2016. That is a weird bug but before we troubleshoot anything we need to know if you are using IMAP or POP3 in your settings to get your emails.

POP3. (And the Outlook 2016 for that option is greyed/unselectable)

Hello CarsonMyre,

Have you tried the option for delete the mail from the server once its downloaded? This way you can not get multiple copies. Also are you using folders and moving emails from the inbox to them on your mail client? As that would cause duplicates while using POP3.

I download mail onto two different computers and one mobile device; therefore, I do not delete from server upon downloading.
I do use folders, so that is valuable information (although this behavior only started recently).
I would prefer to use IMAP, but that option is not selectable. Any ideas on why IMAP cannot be selected as the protocol in Outlook when setting up an account hosted on Webhostinghub?
