Have a new website (dawghead.com) made in iweb 09 - launched two weeks ago and have been told by several folks that when they try to send an email thru my site, they are getting an error message. This is one example:

The host 'SMPT' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Account: 'POP3', Server: 'SMPT', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D

Have checked with WHH and they have assured me that everything looks fine - but I am STILL not getting some of my mail, as error messages are STILL occurring and they are all STILL not able to send (different locations) Any thought would be most appreciated - I'm really frustrated. Thanx........

Hello Jenney,

The email settings are incorrect. I created a test account to make sure that your email was working and it was able to send and receive emails with no problem.

Here's a link that tells you what the settings are supposed to be:

Finding Email settings

Based on your message, you're looking for Server 'SMPT'. First it would typically be "SMTP" not "SMPT" (Simple Mail Transport Protocol), and outgoing server setting should be the same as your primary domain name: mail.dawghead.com. It should not be 'SMPT' or 'SMTP'. Additionally, the SSL Port for outgoing is NOT 25 - it is set to 465. Check out the link above and you should have your email settings.

If you have any further questions, please contact technical support or leave a comment at the bottom of the page.

Regards,

Arnel C.
