Hi there, this problem sounds odd so I'll do my best to explain.

I had a zip file on my site that people could download on my site by clicking a link. It was called "All In One Pack.zip"

After making a modification to this file, I used the "put" function in Dreamweaver, which is the way I usually update files. This process should delete the old file and replace it with the new.

I checked my site to see if the update had been successful. It hadn't, the old file was still being downloaded.

I went to the file manager to see which file was stored there. I could see the file "All In One Pack.zip" and when I checked it, it was the NEW file. There was no sign of the old file. At the time I was very confused because my file manager only had the new version but my site was still finding the old version.

After some investigation I concluded that the old version of the file (with the same name) still existed alongside the new file, even though it could be seen. So, when I clicked the link to download the zip file, it was retrieving the old file and ignoring the new one.

I have since renamed my new file to "All In 1 Pack.zip" (using the number) and altered my html code to link to this. Although this temporarily solves my problem, this name is not consistent with my other zip files. Really, I want to delete that old file so I can call my new one "All In One Pack.zip".

Hope I've made the problem clear. I think it can be quickly solved at Webhosting Hubs end.

Cheers,

Dave

Hello Dave,

I checked the server and no older copy with that filename exists in that folder. You should be able to re-adjust the link code and see the new file now. If the issue is still present (it should be fine, however) please leave it in that state and we will be able to troubleshoot it live.

Best Regards,
Scott M
