I uploaded an executable file to my server for automated backup, but when I double-click on it, it doesn't run but instead prompts me for a save location on my home PC. How can I get this file to run? I tried adding Run/Write permission but get the same result. Thanks!

Hello MichaelS

Executable files are not able to run from the server. They may be placed for download, however. Automated backups maybe set up in scripts, which are written in non-compiled program languages such as php. Once you get the script in place you can set a Cron to schedule it to run whenever you want.

I hope this answers your question. If you have any more questions or information specific to the issue please leave a comment below so we can further assist you.
