Greetings,

I am having trouble with uploading files via FTP due to the error in the title. After a few attempts, it ends up indicating that I have too many connections from this IP and I have to login to cpanel to manually disconnect some FTP sessions. I have been using FileZilla regularly but only recently started having this issue. It probably has to do with a FileZilla update. I have selected "Require explicit FTP over TLS" on my FileZilla settings. How do I fix this issue?

Hello ,

Thank you for your question about FTP connections in FileZilla. Using the Quickconnect option in FileZIlla should cause it to use the default settings, and may fix the problem.

I also found a guide via online search on How to Limit Simultaneous Connections in FileZilla. This should stop the client from exceeding your set amount of connections.

Since you say this started after an update, downloading a new clean copy of FileZilla may fix the problem.

If you have any further questions, feel free to post them below.

Thank you,
John-Paul

Thanks for you response. Although it did not solve the problem, it helped lead me to the problem. Somehow, Filezilla updated the encryption setting to use explicate FTP over TLS and this was causing this issue for me.
