I am a new customer I am setting up my email. I want to us HORDE webmail.
I have downloaded my contact files from Outlook 10 to a CSV file

1) Do I have to convert the CSV file to a V-file or can I upload the CVA file directly?
I saved the CSV file as a VCF file and it look OK
2) What are the field names of Hordes contact data file?
3) Do I include the header row in the CSV or VCF file
4) Can I import my actual emails from outlook to HORDE
5) Does HORDE email support groups/ distribution lists.
I found a CSV to V-file converter but it was “ignoring” many of the field names, so I would prefer to use the CSV file.

Thank you for your question bella wella!

1. On the Select the export format: drop box you can select Comma separated values. No conversion needed.

2. The fields are in the following order.

"firstname","lastname","middlenames","namePrefix","nameSuffix","name","alias","birthday","photo",
"phototype","homeStreet","homePOBox","homeCity","homeProvince","homePostalCode","homeCountry",
"workStreet","workPOBox","workCity","workProvince","workPostalCode","workCountry","timezone",
"email","homePhone","workPhone","cellPhone","fax","pager","title","role","company","logo",
"logotype","category","notes","website","freebusyUrl","pgpPublicKey","smimePublicKey"

3. You will want to include all of the file code.
4. You will need to upload the emails to your server. You can use POP or IMAP to do this. please see the following on this.

301. Transferring Emails from your old Host

5. Horde is not geared towards distribution lists due to the email per hour limits. You will want to use a Program Like PHPList for distribution lists.

Best Regards,
James R
