Can't run shell-Exec in php

Trying to run a script in cgi-bin from php function using php shell-exec without success.
$Text = shell_exec("http://www.mydomain.net/public_html/cgi-bin/Findit.sh $f2Data");
where f2 data is a param. Nothing happens.

Hello,

Sorry to hear that you're having problems with running the script. The problem may have to do with the path you're using. According to the systems person I talked to about this issue, the http path will not work. We unfortunately can't provide you the script, but you may want to reference the PHP documentation for further information.
