Hello cedkirton, Thank you for your question. Photoshop can be expensive, but is the industry standard for graphic editing. A popular free image editing software is Gimp; which is also very powerful. I recommend modifying any images before uploading them to your website, this will help keep down your cpu usage; which can cause you to affect other users on your shared server.
