Hello Blueskygal, Unfortunately, there is no one page where you can find a comparison of all the different programs that can be used for building websites. However, you can install and uninstall these programs to experiment anytime using Softaculous within your Cpanel. It also has a description of the programs there. I'll leave a link on how to use Softaculous at the end of the article. The most popular and widely used program will be Wordpress - it has built-in upgrading and was originally used primarily for blogs. However, it has matured into a program that can be used for many type of websites. You can easily adapt it using the thousands of free plugins and themes available to it. There are also several e-commerce dedicated programs such as OpenCart and PrestaShop. The one that you will use will depend entirely up to you. If it's purely going to be an informational site, then you won't need something like the ecommerce solutions or Content management systems like Joomla and Drupal (both of which have a higher learning curb). But feel free to install each of the programs. When you do install to experiment, simply install them into a subfolder. Here's the link for Softaculous: Installing with Softaculous If you have any further questions, please contact technical support or leave a comment at the bottom of the page. Regards, Arnel C. |
