I can't get the taxes to apply to only 1 state. They will apply to every order regardless of shipping address or they are not applied at all. I have created a tax rule with a range of zip codes but it doesn't seem to work.

Hi MTPockets,

Are you wanting to charge a customer a tax based upon the state they're in?

PrestaShop may or may not be able to do this, I'd have to do a bit of research on it further. I ask because I believe that the taxes you charge are based upon where your store is located, not where the customer is located. For example, if you operate out of Virginia, regardless of where your customers are you would charge them a Virginia based tax.

Here are a few sites I found that explain this:

Top 7 Myths About Sales Taxes - about.com
... This federal precedent only requires retailers to collect sales taxes in states where they have a physical presence.

Collecting Sales Tax Online - sba.gov
You charge your customers the sales tax required by the jurisdiction where your business is located.

If you can explain your situation further, I'd be happy to take another look for you.

Thanks,
- Brad
