Using Builder, I have picked a template but find that the Site Info, specifically the Site Title, which will be my company name, is wayyyy too small. Come on, only 12 pt font for a business name? I need to increase the font size and there is plenty of room around it. How do I do this?

Thanks!
Lisa

Hello LisaGoodwin,

Unfortunately, the only way to change the Site title text is to first publish, and then bypass the settings for the site using CSS. Otherwise, you'd have replace the banner with a different graphic where the text is built-in to the graphic. There is no other way to directly manipulate the text in the Banner.

The main issue with doing this is that 1) you'll be bypassing the builder to make the change, and 2) since the change occurs outside of the builder, then if you publish your site from the builder, it would overwrite the change everytime. That's really more of an inconvenience, but if you keep a copy of the site with your changes, then you can recover it without having to repeatedly re-create the changes.

So it's up to you. The change can definitely be done. The CSS change requires knowledge in editing the CSS code, but I'll go ahead and tell you how it can be done, the paragraph below. Changing the banner requires having access to a graphics program - I can't really help you with that, but there's an article that lists how it can be done.

If you want to change the CSS settings, you would need to edit the CSS settings (which is easiest), you will need to first publish your site with the builder, then go into your files using the Cpanel file manager. Open the CSS folder in the public_html folder (or the folder you're using to store your website files), and then edit the STYLES.CSS file. It's a text file. You'll see the font size in the settings - typically it will say "top elements". The font size will be in pts (for example: 10pt). Simply change the number to a larger number, like say 18pt, then save the changes and re-load your site. I would suggest you clear your browser cache after making that type of change.

The tutorial for making the graphics change is below:
