I created my site using iWeb (shhh...I know lol). Anyway, it creates a subdomain. In my case it is ETPools. So in my ftp "www" folder, I have ETPools where my site is. Everything works great. With help I received from you guys awhile ago, I got the 404 working in that subdomain. So if you go to a wrong page in the subdomain, you see the custom page as I want it seen (i.e. www.etpools.com/ETPools/ContactX.html. However, if you type in the wrong url not in my subdomain, the 404 page does have my custom text, but absolutely no formatting (i.e. www.etpools.com/ETPoolsX/Contact.html). In the "ETPools" folder in the "www" folder of my ftp, there is my "not found" folder of the custom page. I've played around with the url in the html of the custom 404 html file, but no matter what I put in, the results are the same. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues with your custom 404 page not displaying properly all the time. I went to the different URLs provided and they seem to be the same 404 page, though one has no formatting.

In looking at that, I can get it correct by modifying the different URLs used in the code of the page. All CSS, javascript, and images URLs are relative. This works fine for anything in the main subfolder, but will not work for anything in any other folder. You will need to modify the URLs so they work from all folders. Using absolute URLs will work as well as modified relative URLs (adding ../ETPools/ the front of them seemed to work well.)

Kindest Regards,
Scott M
