Hello Sierra, and thanks for your question. WordPress a long time ago was mainly for blogs, but has been developed to be used for other things such as E-commerce as well. Although most of the CMS (Content Management Systems) like WordPress or Joomla have plugins or settings that can also make them usable for E-commerce. So it's really up to personal preference, I might recommend setting up a few test installs to play around with, and once you've found one you're comfortable with uninstall the rest and then set it up on your main site.
