Typo3 MySql installation error

I tried to install Typo3 through cPanel and received the following error: Database Error: It seems that MySQL support for PHP is not installed!
How do I fix it?

Hello,

Thanks for submitting a question about installing Typo3. I advise checking your PHP version. Though I'm not familiar wit the Typo3 application, it's possible it requires a higher PHP version to run properly. Various MySQL connection functions from older versions of PHP are no longer supported.
