My website says it is under construction. I just checked and my files are there. What is going on?

Hello Sheilah,

I'm sorry you were having trouble with your website. I see that you were in contact with our Support Department and they were able to help you restore your site using the cache from the Internet Archive: Wayback Machine.

By default our servers will look for and load index.htm, then index.html, and finally index.php. This is called the Directory Index. When your account is first created, we also place a default.htm file (the "under construction" page) in your account that will load if no index files are found. You will want to make sure that your home page is named either index.htm, index.html, or index.php (if your site is built using PHP) or you can change your directory index so that your home page file name is loaded instead of the default page. Please see the "Changing the directory index" section of the following article for step-by-step instructions on how to change your Directory Index:

What Directory should I Upload my Files to?

Please let us know if you have any additional questions or need further assistance.

Regards,

Christi N.
