I'm looking to move from PHP to node.js for my blog (and other sites).

Node.js is a lot more resource friendly (CPU usage/etc) than things like PHP, and scales *really* well.

Is there any way I can get node.js support? (at this point, I'd be ok if it was only cgi-based )

Direct speech and indirect speech can also refer to the difference between speech acts where the illocutionary force is conveyed directly and indirectly, respectively. Thus, "What time is it?" is a direct speech act that might also be expressed by the indirect speech act "Do you know what time it is?"[5]

He laid down his bundle and thought of his misfortune. "And just what pleasure have I found since I came into this world?" he asked.
Reported or normal indirect speech:[a]
He laid down his bundle and thought of his misfortune. He asked himself what pleasure he had found since he came into the world.
Free indirect speech:[a]
He laid down his bundle and thought of his misfortune. And just what pleasure had he found since he came into this world?
A crucial semantic distinction between direct and indirect speech is that direct speech purports to report the exact words that were said or written, whereas indirect speech is a representation of speech in one's own words.[3]

The distinction between indirect speech and free indirect speech is mostly one of style, hence free indirect speech is sometimes described as a free indirect style.

A great leader knows how to translate vision into reality, even when one person’s vision seems like a dream. Here are 10 powerful quotes on striking your own path:

"Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower."
-Steve Jobs, Apple co-founder
"Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail."
-Ralph Waldo Emerson
"The true mark of a leader is the willingness to stick with a bold course of action — an unconventional business strategy, a unique product-development roadmap, a controversial marketing campaign — even as the rest of the world wonders why you're not marching in step with the status quo. In other words, real leaders are happy to zig while others zag. They understand that in an era of hyper-competition and non-stop disruption, the only way to stand out from the crowd is to stand for something special."
-Bill Taylor, from the article "Do You Pass the Leadership Test?"
"The very essence of leadership is that you have to have vision. You can't blow an uncertain trumpet."
-Theodore M. Hesburgh
"You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing you think you cannot do."
-Eleanor Roosevelt
"In matters of style, swim with the current; in matters of principle, stand like a rock."
-Thomas Jefferson
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, concerned citizens can change the world. Indeed it is the only thing that ever has."
-Margeret Mead
"A genuine leader is not a searcher for consensus but a molder of consensus."
-Martin Luther King Jr.
"It is not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change."
-Charles Darwin
"Leaders grasp nettles."

Hello FearTheCowboy,

Thank you for your question on using node.js. I'm sorry but node.js is not supported in the shared environment of Web Hosting Hub servers. This is due to the resources needed by the node program and that command line access would be needed to install and manage the node program.

I noticed that you're using WordPress for your blog. We do recommend a caching plugin such as WP Super Cache which can help to optimize your WordPress site.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions or need further assistance.

Regards,

Christi N.

Has this position changed in the 8 years since it was written? I feel that NodeJS is a more widely used framework now and I personally want to use it on my site.

Hello Robert,

NodeJS cannot be added as its requirements still can't be met. Web Hosting Hub was meant to be a quick and simple hosting solution without having the access and additional functionality you would find in other hosting servers. These requirements (as per Christi's answer above) require certain access levels and additional software in order to be used. If you want to use NodeJS, then we recommend getting a VPS or dedicated hosting server with someone like our sister company InMotion Hosting.

If you have any further questions or comments, please let us know.

Kindest Regards,
Arnel C.
