hi.

i'm trying to setup an auto reminder for visitors, but it's not working (this is my first cron job). the cron wizard in my control panel is foreign to me. please help. Here's the info supplied by my calendar/scheduler vendor (i'm including the full text). i need it to send a reminder one hour before a scheduled appointment:

You need to set up a cron job using your hosting account control panel which should execute every hour. Depending on your web server you should use either the URL or script path.

Server path:
/home/hukleb5/public_html/calendarscheduler/cron.php

URL:
http://huklebukle.com/calendarscheduler/cron.php

Thanks in advance,

Ralph

Thank you for your question RalphMart!

Sorry for the trouble with the Cron job not running. We looked at the cron.php script and it appears to be just grabbing 2 variables and loading the index.php page. In order for the cron.php to work, the php file needs to be scripted to run whatever process the calendar/scheduler vendor requires for the reminder to sent out.

We added the Cron Command in your cPanel that will run the script. The command looks like the following:

php -q /home/hukleb5/public_html/calendarscheduler/cron.php

You will want to contact the software developer to make sure you have the correct code in your cron.php file. For more information on Cron jobs please see our aticle on How to Run a Cron Job. Sorry for the trouble.
