I would like to add a subdomain to my existing Wordpress blog.
As I see it, I need to establish the subdomain via cPanel, e.g., subdomain.maindomain.com.
I would then like to use a separate Wordpress for the subdomain.
This seems to require that I again go to cPanel and click on the Wordpress icon and then install Wordpress without overwriting the existing Wordpress for the main domain.
I am hesitating to do this because I do not know what will happen when I click install.
I am hoping that once I click install, I will be given the opportunity to select my new subdomain.
If that is so, I cannot overwrite Wordpress for my main domain.
Is this correct?
Will I be given the option to install Wordpress to my new subdomain before the installation proceeds?

Hello,

Thank you for your question on installing WordPress on a subdomain. When you use the Softaculous tool to install WordPress, you are taken to a form to fill out some specific information. One of the fields allows you to choose where you will install it. The subdomain will be listed there for you to select. It will not overwrite your existing installation at the main domain area.

Kindest Regards,
Scott M
