We already have our website up and running without using WordPress, are we able to build a WordPress site without compromising or effecting the active site?

Hello,

Thank you for your question regarding building a new website without effecting our active site. Yes, you can install WordPress in a folder, such as:
example.com/wordpress

Alternately, you could install WordPress on a subdomain, such as:
test.example.com

Password protecting the site folder can stop vistors (and Google) from accessing the site while you build it.

Then, when you are ready to go live, you can simply run WordPress from the subdomain/subdirectory, or move it to your active site folder.

Finally, change your WordPress URL to reflect your site name.

Thank you,
John-Paul
