When I try to log in, an error message pops up on another page saying that "The website declined to show this webpage". On both Explorer and Firefox. I have tried removing and reinstalling the whole program, but the same thing happens.

By the way, my CPanel username is miketh8, not mikethe8. Please change this or show me how to do it. Thanks.

What specifically are you seeing when trying to log into the Wordpress admin? Are you able to see your site properly or is it both the site as well as the Wordpress admin? Do you get any specific error messages? Could you provide me with the domain so that I may replicate the issue?

Regarding your username here, this is something that you set up when you signed up for the public forums here at the support center and has no impact on what your cPanel username may be. To change your support center username, you would need to simply create a new account as the username that you want displayed.

The error that displays on that page is a 403 Forbidden error. This is caused by something within either you .htaccess file or a file permissions issue. As this is a public forum, I cannot provide any exact information about your account or make any changes, but I can say that most times it is due to a previous change to your .htaccess file which is blocking based on referrer or IP. If this is blocking based on IP, you may want to review our article on making this change to your Wordpress site to learn how to modify this and regain access.

This is the problem I'm having. I haven't touched this database in about 2 months. It was working fine then, and now I cannot login due to this error. I followed your links and while successful applying a password to wp-admin, unfortunately the same error occurred with the forbidden page. Also, some of the instruction for the brute force is not entirely clear. After pasting in the code in numerous places, It does not get me any further to a solution. I am sure it was not this complicated when I first downloaded WP months ago. Unstalled/reinstalled WP and it continues, so it shouldn't be wp-admin. I am almost ready to start completely over. Can someone help? Should I call instead?
