I am receiving the following error when logging into my Wordpress dashboard (site username altered): "Fatal error: Call to undefined function is_user_admin() in /home/myusername/public_html/wp/wp-admin/index.php on line 27"

I first saw the error after WebHostingHub was hacked last year.

I see that you were able to help someone with a situation similar to me here: "http://www.webhostinghub.com/support/community-support/wordpress/cant-update-wordpress-site-after-recent-hack"

Any help you can offer will be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hello Dahlgar,

I'm sorry you're having trouble logging into your WordPress site. The issue referred to in that question was due to an incorrect index file in the wp-admin folder of WordPress (which was due to the hack). While looking into this for you, I didn't see anything that stood out in the index.php file inside your wp-admin folder.

In my experience, this error is usually an issue with a plugin or theme (sometimes both). I would recommend disabling plugins manually by renaming the plugins folder inside of your wp-content folder. This will force WordPress to disable all of your plugins. You can also rename your theme's folder (located inside wp-content/themes) to force WordPress to use the default theme. You should then be able to log into your WordPress dashboard. Once you're in the dashboard you can re-enable your theme and then each plugin to see if the issue is caused by the theme or a plugin.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions or need further assistance.

Regards,

Christi N.
