After updating the WordPress Spam Master plugin, I'm getting an error message, as follows:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_get_current_user() in /home/sainta9/public_html/wp-content/plugins/spam-master/includes/settings/spam-master-admin-settings-license-trial.php on line 132

This message occurs when I try to access the dashboard of the website or the main site. What can I do to fix it?

Hello CDSherlock,

Thank you for your question regarding a fatal error after updating the Spam Master plugin. Removing/Disabling then reinstalling the plugin may help fix the issue. You can easily do this by renaming the "spam-master" folder located here:
/home/******9/public_html/wp-content/plugins/spam-master (I marked out your username for security puposes)

If your problems persist I recommend following our WordPress Troubleshooting guide to further narrow down the cause.

Thank you,
John-Paul
