I don't want my wordpress files in the root. My attempt to install wordpress in a sub folder created a site at www.mysite.com/subfolder. (not www.mysite.com). What am I doing wrong?

Hello J9Bing,

Thank you for your question. What you are experiencing is correct for how the website structure works.

For example if you install WordPress into a subfolder, then you will have to navigate to:
domain.com/subfolder

So, it looks like you successfully installed WordPress in the subfolder. If you want the site to show up on mysite.com without any subfolders, then you would have to install it in the public_html folder, this can be done in Softaculous by leaving the directory option blank.

Check this link for more information on how to do this.
