When I logged in to Word Press, a message comes up: "WordPress 3.6 is available. Please update now."

So I clicked on "Please update now."

The next page says "Important: before updating, please back up your database and files."

Since I had already signed up for Automated Backups (up to 10GB), does this mean I can skip this step?

Thanks.

Hello englishecho,

Thank you for your question. The daily backups we run are for emergency recovery only, and should not be relied on when modifying your software.

Since you are responsible for your files, I highly recommend performing a complete backup, then downloading it to your local computer before modifying/updating your site.

If you have any further questions, feel free to post them below.
Thank you,

-John-Paul
