hi, my site is at www.russellbrandtrews.com. U will see that i have my homepage set to show my latest posts but the problem is the whole text for each post is showing and i only want the excerpt. So i have tried to fix this by going to Wordpress dashboard > settings > reading. From here i go "For each article in a feed, show:" i selected summary NOT full text but its still showing the fulltext (i have deleted cache too).

Im still very new to all this so maybe i did something else wrong, any clues? I need to also being able to edit the summary/excerpt so as to avoid over-optimization, can you guide me on how to do this please as i see no option for it.

Hello again TheTrews,

I took a look at this and also explored the issue with my teammates in the Community Support team. The problem is related to the Theme that you're using. if you review this forum post it mentions a theme that is only displaying the post excerpts. When I discussed this with my team, they suggested it could only be controlled in the theme.

However, when I looked deeper into the issue, I also found this Better Recent Posts Widget which also controls the recent posts. The only issue is that it's not free. While it's a minimal charge, there may be another plugin on the Wordpress.org that does what you need. Otherwise, you would need to find a theme (or modify your existing theme) to meet your needs. You would need to contact your existing theme developer for customization assistance.

Regards,
Arnel C.
