I just want to copy all my website info over into a WordPress theme.
Do I need a new domain name, or can I use my primary...websites-n-affiliates.com?
Can you give me the info to fill in the boxes when installing?
Thanks in advance!!!

Hello pprp62,

Thank you for your question. If your website was not originally created in Wordpress, you will need to recreate the site, after installing Wordpress. Wordpress can easily be installed using Softaculous, or manually, which can be a bit more involved.

There are several options for you, depending how you want to set it up:

  • Install wordpress in a directory, for example a folder titled wordpress, then access the site on:
domain.com/wordpress (be sure to use your actual domain)

  • Create a subdomain, for example wordpress.domain.com, then install wordpress there. You could then access the Wordpress on:
wordpress.domain.com (be sure to use your actual domain)

  • Register a new domain via AMP, add it to your cPanel as an Addon domain, then install Wordpress on this new domain.

Then, I recommend reading our Wordpress Education channel, which can guide you when you are using Wordpress.

For options 1 and 2, after you setup your Wordpess site you can move it to the public_html folder to replace the old website.

If you have any further questions, feel free to post them below.
Thank you,

-John-Paul
