Problems uploading and inserting images in Wordpress

I am getting an HTTP error when I try to upload images to wordpress and when I try inserting images into a post they are such a small size that they can not be seen. I have tried deactivating all plugins but this has not worked.

I looked at the other post and unfortunately none of these worked. I think i may be related to installing YOAST as installing it is when the issues started. Also, I need to update the YOAST plug in (Wordpress SEO) but I get the error message below:
