Hello,

I have recently purchased web hosting via zyma and a domain name via 123reg. I have set up the hosting to point to the domain and that is all working.

I followed a youtube video on how to install zencart cart by copying over the directory etc, but this didn't work so I deleted it. I then realised I could have automatic installation via cpanel of open cart so I did this ... it told me to log in to lillejewellery.co.uk/store which gave me a 404 error.

I created a new plain html page to see if I could access this which also gives a 404 error. The only page which works is the default index.html .... I thought it could be something I'm doing wrong so I copied the code of index.html and created a similar page and called it index2.html... and this gives me the same 404 error.

I am worried when I deleted the first cart I have accidentally deleted an important file?

Thanks

Hello lillejewellry,

I cannot find an account for you with us, so I am unable to access it to test and give a definitive answer.

However, a 404 simply means that it cannot find the page at that particular address. You will want to first be certain that the domain name is pointing to the correct server. Then I would go into the account and change the code on the page that is displaying to confirm it.

Once confirmed and you can see the changes on the web, then I would check the different folders in the account to be sure they are there and check them one by one. Be sure you are checking for case as well, Index.html and index.html are considered two different pages.

I hope this answers your question. If you have any more questions or information specific to the issue please leave a comment below so we can further assist you.

Best Regards,
Scott M
