When working with your Premium Website Builder you may want to upload files for use on your website. These files can be uploaded via two different tools found on the builder dashboard. Which tool you use depends on what you are trying to accomplish. Below are the steps on how to use the two tools to upload different file types for the Premium Website Builder.

Logging into the builder editor

Regardless of which type of file you want to upload, the initial steps are the same. You must get to the page editor in the builder.

  1. Log into your builder application.
  2. select-editOnce inside, click on the Edit step from either the main page or the toolbar in the upper right corner.
  3. This leads you to the edit area. For file uploading purposes, it does not matter which particular page you are on, but you must be on a common page type so that the editor appears in the right hand panel. You will need to use the toolbar at the top.

Uploading files to be used as images

If you are planning on using image files as pictures on your site, you will use these instructions. Note that this is only for image files that will be viewed on your site pages as pictures. These steps continue from the instructions above.

  1. image-iconFrom the editor toolbar, click on the Image icon. This icon appears as a mountain with a sun above it.
  2. This leads to the image settings box, for our purposes, we will be ignoring this box except for the Browse Server button. Click on it to continue.
  3. You are now in the image loading and selection section. To upload images for use as pictures on your site, click on the Browse button at the bottom.
  4. This leads you to the tool to select images from your local machine. Images can only be selected one at a time. After finding an image to upload, click the Open button to send the image path to the previous page.
  5. Once selected, the URL will appear next to the button. Click on the Upload button to send the file to the server. Note you can only upload image file types with this tool. If you try to upload any other file type you will get an Invalid File Type error.
  6. Repeat this process for each image you want to upload. Once finished, simply close the browser window. You will not need the image settings box any longer, so you can click on the Cancel button to close it.

Uploading files to use with download links

If you want to upload different file types, including images, to be used for downloads, you will use the following steps. Note that images uploaded here will not appear in the image selection list for adding pictures to your pages. They would need to be uploaded via that tool as well for that purpose

  1. link-iconFrom the editor toolbar, click on the Link icon. This icon appears as a globe with a chain link on it.
  2. This leads to the link settings box. As above we will be ignoring this box except for the Browse Server button. Click on it to continue.
  3. This leads you to the file uploading and selection tool. To upload files to be used as downloads on the site, click on the Browse button at the bottom.
  4. This leads you to the tool to select files from your local machine. Files can only be selected one at a time. After finding a file to upload, click the Open button to send the image path to the previous page.
  5. Once selected, the URL will appear next to the button. Click on the Upload button to send the file to the server. Note that although you can upload most file types (pdf, mp3, wav, html, xml, doc, xls, image files, etc), some, such as .exe files will give an Invalid File Type error as they are not allowed for security purposes.
  6. Repeat this process for each file you want to upload as files can only be uploaded one at a time. Once you are finished, simply close the browser window. You will no longer need the link settings box so you can click on the Cancel button to close it.
