cPanel features many tools designed to make tasks related to hosting a website easier to manage. When working with images for your website, the Images section of cPanel will simplify creating thumbnails, converting image file types, and scaling/resizing images. In this guide, you can learn how to create thumbnails for all the images in a directory using cPanel.
Under the Files subheader, click on the Images icon.
Navigate to the directory where your images (that you would like to create thumbnails for) are stored.
NOTE: You must click on the folder icon(s) to navigate through the directories and click on the folder name to make your selection.
Once a selection is made, cPanel will allow you to specify the percentage (%) by which you want to shrink the width and height of your images. Enter the percentage in the first field under Scale Percent.
NOTE: By default, the Keep Aspect Ratio checkbox is checked. This will maintain the width and height ratio so that the image does not appear stretched.
Click on the Thumbnail Images button.
The page will reload once the images have all been thumnailed and display a message similar to the following:
Your images have been thumbnailed into /home/exampl3/public_html/photos/thumbnails/tn_*
Congratulations! Now you know how to thumbnail images using cPanel.
