Changing the template in Joomla
The Default Theme or Template for Joomla is the Protostar template. You can change the template easily within the Joomla Dashboard by changing the default template in the Template Manager. The next steps will show you how to change the template in Joomla.
Changing the Joomla 3.1 Template
- Log into your Joomla Dashboard.
Go to Extensions > Template Manager.
The Template Manager will list your available templates. Some Templates are for the administrative Dashboard and the others are for the public Site of the website. See image to the right.
Click the black and white star for the Beez3 template.
The star should turn yellow like the snapshot to the right.
The template will automatically be applied when you select the default template.
Visit your website and your template should look like the snapshot to the right.
You can upload new themes and get free ones on online to have a variety of looks for your Joomla site.
