There are different reasons for managing several shops. You may have several brick and mortar locations, or you may have different online stores. PrestaShop 1.6 enables you to setup many stores that can be managed from a single PrestaShop installation. The following instructions show you how to enable the multistore option.

  1. Login to the PrestaShop 1.6 administator
  2. In the menu to the left of the administrator screen, look for Preference. Hover over Preferences and click on General when it appears in the sub-menu that pops up.
  3. Enable multistore

Scroll down the General menu until you find Multistore. Click on YES and you will activate the Multistore option.

The Impact of Using MultiStore

When you click on multistore, you open up a large range of possibilities within the PrestaShop installation. Many options within the Administrator dashboard will need to be set with the multistore option in mind. You should therefore be prepared for the impact of using the multistore option. For example, if you set a tax rule, then you will need to determine if all or a particular number of your shops will be affected by the rule. See the screenshot below for an example of what you may see:

Hi, If i enable multishop, is there a way to make same login and log out for all shops for the customers?

The idea is :

Once a visitor is logged on a shop, he should be also authenticated for the other shops which belong to the same group if the option "Share customers" is checked when the group was defined.

For now, he has to log in again if he switches from one shop to another.

Any suggestions ?

Hello Amelia,

Thank you for contacting us. From what I read on the official PrestaShop guide on Managing Multiple Shops, they are not able to access between stores.

This means you will have to custom-code/develop a solution, or possibly use a 3rd party module.

Thank you,
John-Paul

Hi,

I have a problem with Prestashop 1.6.0.14.

I'm using the default theme.

When I choose: Preferences - Store Contacts, I get a white screen.

Can you tell me what's going on?

Thanks

Bert

Hello Bert,

Thank you for contacting us. Here is a link to our guide on how to fix the Blank white screen in PrestaShop 1.6.

If your problems persist, I recommend enabling Error Reporting in PrestaShop, which should provide a more detailed message, instead of a blank page.

Thank you,
John-Paul
