In this tutorial we will guide you through installing the Cash On Delivery (COD) module, then editiing the modules settings. This allows the delivery company, for example UPS or Fedex, to collect the money when the package is delivered. When the customer pays, the delivery money will be forwarded to you via mail.

This does not require you to sign up for a special account, etc.

Installing the Cash on Delivery module:

  1. Login to the Zen Cart Admin panel.
  2. In the navigation menu, roll your mouse over Modules, and click the Payments option.
  3. Click Cash on Delivery from the Payment Modules list, then click the +install button over to the right.

The Module will install and the settings will be open for editing. Choose / enter your selections as needed:
    OptionDescription
Enable Cash On Delivery Module True enables, this shipping option. If you select False, this shipping option will not be available. It will still be installed, just 'turned off.'
Payment Zone You can select a zone from this drop-down menu, if you do, this setting will only apply to that zone.
Set Order Status From this drop-down menu choose what you want the status of an order to be after checking out using the Cash on Delivery method.
Sort Order of Display. The number you enter here will affect where this option will display on the payment page when customers check out. Zero will be at the top of the list, and higher numbers will be further down the list.

After making your selections, click the update button to save them. The Cash on Delivery option will now be available as a payment option in your eshop.
