In this tutorial:

When you are running a website, it can be helpful to leave notes for yourself, or for other editors of the site. The Editor Comment add-on for Concrete5 lets you leave notes, or comments that can only be seen when you are logged in as an Admin. In this tutorial, we will show you how to install and use the Editor Comment Add-On in Concrete5.

Installing the Editor Comment Add-On

  1. Login to the Concrete5 Admin Dashboard.
  2. In the top left, click the + sign to Add Content to the Page.

  3. The Blocks menu will slide out. Scroll to the bottom and click the Get More Blocks button.

  4. In the search field, type editor comment, then click the Search button.
  5. You will see the Editor Comment Add-On listed, click it.

  6. You will see the Editor Comment listed along with a summary. Click the Download button.

    You are finished when you see a message stating "The package was successfully installed.". Click the arrow in the top left to return to your site.

How to Add an Editor Comment

  1. Login to the Concrete5 Admin Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to the page where you want to add an Editor Comment.
  3. In the top left, click the + sign to Add Content to the Page.

  4. The Blocks menu will slide out. Scroll down to the Developer Section to access the Editor Comment Add-On.

    Drag and drop it into the block that you want to add a comment to.
  5. The Add Editor Comment box will appear, with a message stating "Leave a comment, only shown in edit mode." Fill in the field with your desired comment and click the Add button.

    Now you will then see your comment displayed when you are logged into the Admin Dashboard.
