The upgrade process for osCommerce will vary depending on what version you are upgrading to and may not be an easy process for the average user.

At the time of this writing, there are two versions of osCommerce available, each with different server requirements:

osCommerce Online Merchant v2.3.1
Server Requirements:
    PHP v4+ (PHP v5+ recommended)
    MySQL v3+ (MySQL v5+ recommended)

osCommerce Online Merchant v3.0.2
Server Requirements:
    PHP v5.3+ (with PDO MySQL extension)
    MySQL v4.1.13+ or v5.0.7+
(v3.0.2 is still considered in "development stage")

Currently, osCommerce v2.3.1 is compatible with our servers. If you are using an older version of osCommerce and want to upgrade to v2.3.1, we can provide some basic guidelines for the upgrade process and assist you in locating the instructions for upgrading.

For the full instructions for performing an upgrade:
  1. Download the osCommerce installation package to your local computer
  2. Unzip the file on your local computer
  3. Review the upgrade_guide.pdf file.
Before beginning the upgrade process, first make either a full backup of your account or a partial backup that includes your site files and your database.
