When you create articles you have the option to set the "Alias" to specific text. An Alias is what is used to find an article in your Joomla Site. These are also called "Search Engine Friendly URLs" which are designed to Optimize your site for web searches.
By default, Joomla will use the title of the article in lower case separated by dashes. See image to the right. You can change this to your specific need. The following steps will teach you how to change the Alias for your articles in Joomla.
Note! Make sure you type the alias all lower case and separated by dashes like my-custom-alias.
Save the changes.
Now when you visit your article you will see the new Alias in the address bar like the snapshot to the right.
